I wanted to share a few of my favorite photos from the past few weeks. I’ve been here since December and I’ve noticed that I haven’t been posting anything on WordPress so I hope this makes up for the stories I’ve missed to tell! (Forgive the awful quality for some of my photos, though. I take them mostly from my phone.)

This crazy guy was…crazy!
Obligatory ‘Kara is jumping’ photo
Chinese performers were outside during the inauguration of the city mayor because Ed Lee was of Chinese descent.
The plaza surrounding the city hall was filled with trees like these. They have no leaves yet, though–hoping for a pretty bloom when Spring comes!
That guy behind me was so cute (#babaw)
SFO City Hall
Finding our way to the Finland Brotherhood Hall…
This mural is one of the prettiest I’ve seen so far.
We were lost–thank God for iPhone’s Maps!
Signs, signs. Berkeley, CA
We went to Berkeley for the day to accompany Marika to vote in the Finnish elections.
Loved, loved, loved this bus!
We walked through the streets of Berkeley to explore the city a bit and found it funny that they had SO much of these little rotondas all around.
With Marika along the art district of Berkeley, CA.
Berkeley is filled with art on the streets. This one was my favorite for the day.
These signs caught my eye in Berkeley.
Go DONS!
It’s odd what they do here during freethrows. Spirit fingers? @ The DONS vs SAN DIEGO game at the War Memorial Gym
The St. Ignatius Church on campus–such a beauty!

My favorite photo from the trip to Alcatraz! With Natalie 🙂
Aboard the ferry to Alcatraz. L-R, Theresa, Gracie, Deb, Francesca, Natalie, Natalia and I
Eating the famous clam chowder in a sourdough bowl at Fisherman’s Wharf.
Anna and I enjoyed standing up throughout the ride down. It felt like a semi-rollercoaster, to be honest. The views were amazing.
Chiara and I aboard the cable car from Hyde to Powell.
Still at Mel’s Diner. L-R Gracie, me, Francesca, Marika’s roommate, Marika, Chiara, Natalia and Deb
Mel’s Diner at Geary Blvd. As a kid, I frequented this diner with my Ninang and has been my favorite American restaurant ever since! Their malted milkshakes are simply the best.
Dinner with the girls! L-R, Francesa, Natalia, Debora and I
I have a few classes here at Kalmanovitz Hall and it’s so far my favorite building.
With Gracie at Golden Gate Park
On our free days, we can just head out to the 4-mile wide Golden Gate Park to bask in the sunshine.
Portobello Mushroom Burger from Mel’s
Studying in the grass is one of the best things you can do in USF if its sunny. We took advantage of that this day.
A sunset through Daly City’s view.
Haight-Ashbury is known for its quirky stores and restaurants. I had brunch with friends here one day–all I can say is that nothing beats a Filipino breakfast. Haha!
I watched Macbeth at the Presidio one Saturday afternoon. I’m glad that it was the event I chose for my Sociology class because I haven’t seen a Shakespearean play staged before and this was just amazing.
I represented Ateneo for University of San Francisco’s Study Abroad Fair.
When I decide to ‘exercise’ and walk to the bus station in the morning, I always pass by this road sign. It reminds me of where I am because sometimes, I still can’t believe that I’m here. 🙂
An old car I saw along Hayes Street one day. The plate number is hilarious!
Blick’s Art Store; shopping for Gracie’s art supplies downtown.
Finally an update from you! Can’t wait to hear/see more of your adventures! 😀
Sidenote: I really miss you Kara! It can be pretty sad [in the pub, with the EB] sometimes without your contagious energy. Hope you continue to find happiness in San Fransisco! *virtual hug*
