GM Diet: Day 7

“Today your food intake will consist of brown rice, fruit juices and all the vegetables you care to consume.” 

Healthy living from here on out! Finally made it through a week of choosing the healthier option.

I was especially excited for Day 7 because 1) it’s finally over and 2) the items on the menu were my kind of thing. It came to a surprise to me that I actually enjoyed drinking the green juice I bought yesterday. The blend of fruits like kiwi, apples, and peaches and vegetables like spinach and broccoli were a pleasant burst of flavor! Although the added spirulina and  chlorophyll might take others aback, I swear by the nutritious goodness this drink has to offer. It’s really good and I am now a fan. Aside from this juice discovery, however, my day went pretty normal.

What I ate:

  • 1 Fuji apple
  • 1 bottle Bolthouse Farms Green Goodness juice
  • 1 bottle Botlhouse Farms Starawberry-Banana juice
  • 2.5 liters water
  • Spinach salad with boiled chicken and tofu (Okay, I cheated on this because I’m not supposed to take meat at all– but I was so hungry when lunch came!)
  • A small amount of mixed veggies and around 3 spoonfuls of brown rice for dinner (I felt too full from the first three bites I took. It was weird because it’s like my tummy repelled the rice I ate.)
  • 10 mini cut baby carrots and 2 tbsp garlic hummus

What I did:

  • 65 minutes on the Precor Elliptical (Total distance covered: 4.99 miles / 543 cal)
  • 6 reps of 3 lbs weights

GM Diet: Day 6

Panda Express
YAY! Panda Express for lunch. Happy Sunday 🙂

“Beef and vegetables. Today you may eat an unlimited amount of beef and vegetables. Eat to your hearts content.” 

Today was easy! I felt like I ate like I normally would, only that I didn’t have rice in any of my meals. However, it’s the first time I “cheated” on the diet. I couldn’t help but drink milk during breakfast and have a banana after dinner. Oh well.

What I ate:

  • 3 cups of mushrooms, broccoli and cauliflower sautéed in garlic and beef
  • A bowl of Panda Express Kobari beef with mixed vegetables
  • A glass of milk
  • One banana
  • 2.5 liters of water

What I did:

  • 60 minutes of brisk walking

I’m so excited for tomorrow! I went to the grocery today to get me some brown rice (after a week of not having this, grabbing that on the aisle was like reaching for heaven!) and fruit juices. I’m less that 24 hours away from completing the diet and around 2 days until I have my final weigh-in. I can’t wait!

GM Diet: Day 5

I cooked a batch of stuffed tomatoes just for today. They didn't taste awful (even though I don't really cook) and were quite good if you ask me! 😉

“Today is feast day. You will eat beef and tomatoes. Eat two 10 oz. portions of lean beef. Hamburger is OK. Combine this with six whole tomatoes. On day five you must increase your water intake by one quart. This is to cleanse your system of the uric acid you will be producing.”

Day 5 was interesting. I finally had the protein that I’ve been craving for the past 4 days! What surprised me, though, is that I wasn’t able to finish the amount of food allotted for today. Out of the 6 tomatoes, I barely consumed 5 and out of the 20 oz. of lean beef that I could eat, I only finished about 16 oz or less. This was a good day for me, especially if you consider the hellish banana-milk day I just had.

What I ate:

  • 4 1/2 stuffed tomatoes (stuffing: mushrooms, beef, bell peppers, onion, garlic)
  • 1 4oz. beef patty
  • A total of 1lb / 16oz. beef
  • A glass of milk
  • 2.5 liters of water

What I did:

  • 25 minutes on Xfinity On Demand walking exercise (Total distance covered: 2 miles)

More than halfway there! I got to keep on pushing!

GM Diet: Day 4

Cavendish bananas are the main commercial bana...

“Bananas and milk. Today you will eat as many as eight bananas and drink three glasses of milk. This will be combined with the special soup which may be eaten in limited quantities.” 

What a day! Day 4 gave me an upset stomach every time I ate a banana and/or drank a glass of milk. I guess my tummy got too much used to the fruit and veggie combo it’s been having for the past 3 days. I also think I over did my milk intake– oh well. No exercising for me today, I took too much time in the toilet, if you know what I mean.

What I ate:

  • 1.5 liters of 2% reduced fat milk
  • A glass of water (Now that I think about it, I don’t know why I drank only a glass of water today. I guess it’s because I felt like my insides were about to throw everything out– I don’t really know.)
  • 7 organic bananas
  • A small bowl of GM Wonder Soup

What I did:

  • Work on my Philo paper (still not done…Lord, help me.)
  • Curl up into a ball for two hours and eventually fall asleep in a secluded fireplace lounge in school. Yep, true story. Funny tummy was very funny and topsy-turvy.

I can’t explain today. I’m going bananas! LITERALLY.

GM Diet: Day 3

Finally-- some fruit in my diet today!

“A mixture of fruits and vegetables of your choice. Any amount, any quantity. No bananas yet. No potatoes today.”

Day 3 is, so far, my favorite. I actually enjoyed the day because I finally had a balanced dose of both sweet / salty tastes in my mouth. Yesterday was really hard because by the end of the night I wanted to throw up all the raw stuff I ate. I began tasting the earth…literally! I’m so glad that my menu today gave me exactly the resurrection that I needed. I guess it’s true when they say that third time’s the charm!

What I ate:

  • Half a cantaloupe
  • 1 bunch of red grapes
  • 1 bunch of green grapes
  • 1/2 apple pear
  • 1 Fuji apple
  • 3/4 a bunch of baked asparagus seasoned with 1/2 tbsp of olive oil and pepper
  • 2 cups broccoli and 10 oz. white mushrooms stir-fried and seasoned with 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp garlic and a pinch of seasoned salt
  • 2.5 liters of water
  • (Again, no GM Wonder soup for me today. I don’t think I’m eating any of that soon.)

What I did:

  • 40 minutes on the Precor Elliptical (Total distance covered: 3.30 miles / 368 cal)
  • 8 reps of 3 lbs weights

I know I said that I wouldn’t work out today and ‘nurse’ my difficult period (my back pains are terrible!), but I decided to suck it up and burn some calories. No excuses — I just need to keep on moving forward if I want to see results.
